Modellen idag är exakt skalenlig och förebilden är 2015 innan alla skyltar och hisskorgar och maskineri togs bort. Den gamla Katarinahissen stängdes och revs 1933, i samband med att nuvarande Slussen började byggas. Den nya hissen stod färdig 1936 och blev då en del av Katarinahuset som uppfördes samtidigt.
